Actuarial Analyst and Consulting
Meeks Resourcing is partnered with a national actuarial consulting firm, providing services for pensions and health and welfare plans. On the pension side they have practice groups that focus on public pensions, multi-employer pensions, and corporate plans. With health and welfare that provide consultation toward contribution and self-pay rate calculations, OPEB plan design, medical and GASB reporting.
They have a consistent need for qualified actuarial professionals from Analyst to Lead Consultant level of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct actuarial valuations and analyses for pension and/or health & welfare benefit plans.
- Assess plan design and funding strategies to optimize cost-effectiveness and risk management.
- Collaborate with clients to develop long-term benefit strategies aligned with their organizational objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance, including IRS and ERISA requirements.
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to clients, including through written reports and presentations.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting actuarial consulting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree or actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA) preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in actuarial consulting, with a focus on pension and health & welfare benefit plans.
- Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., ProVal) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
