Mobile Mechanic
This opportunity is with a family-owned tractor and equipment logistics company. Their DFW location has seen a growing customer base and an increased need for service. This opportunity is in place to support that growth.
- Perform maintenance and service on terminal tractors and forklifts at shop and/or at various customer locations.
- Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on light and heavy-duty trucks.
- Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop and service truck.
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks.
- Maintain quality standards and accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
Required Skills
- 3-10 years mechanic experience preferred
- Strong work ethic
- 2 year electrical and electrical troubleshooting or technical training preferred
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
- Multi-Tasking & Team oriented
- Should have own basic tools
- Bilingual a plus
Applicants should have knowledge of:
- Cummins certifications a plus.
- Cummins (B and C Series, QSB, 5.9, 6.7, ISB, ISM); Detroit and CAT engines. Allison Transmissions (MT, 3000, 4000 series).
- Possess general knowledge and proficiency in repair of brake systems, axles, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, transmission, drivelines, differentials, air conditioning, engines and transmission repairs.
- Must be able to perform Preventative Maintenance services.
- Knowledgeable of a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools.
- Able to perform routine maintenance and identify the cause of breakdowns and repair.
- Inspect and test and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
- Forklift experience is a valuable asset.
Accountabilities * Safe and legal operation of commercial motor vehicle.
- Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to operations.
- Professional representation of the company through uniform/professional attire and responsible driving.
